Someone recently asked me why my stories have so many Christian overtones to them. Why can't I just tell stories without "Christ" in them. My reply was that I was a christian and as such, Jesus is my life and hence, my stories.
I'll not recount the discussion here but, the result was this; many christians today do not even know the tenants of their faith. Some professing christians don't even believe these pillars of our faith any more.
To be a Christian you must believe;
1. Jesus Christ is deity. (Jesus is God, the second person of the holy trinity)
2. The virgin birth. (Jesus was born to the virgin Mary, conceived through the Holy Spirit)
3. His sinless life and death. (Jesus lived a sinless life. 100% man and 100% God. He died for our sins at Calvary and was buried)
4. His resurrection. (Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day. Paul said in scripture that if Jesus was not raised after his crucifixion then we would have remained in our sins.)
5.The inerrancy of scripture. (The bible is the complete true word of God. The men who actually put pen to paper were inspired by the Holy Spirit and under His direction. It's all true, not just the parts we like.)
This is what it is to be a christian. Some "christians" groups will argue. Fine, take it up with God these are his rules.
My stories are about people who look to our Lord for guidance, direction and strength regardless of circumstance or situation, just as we should. My characters will continue to acknowledge the Lord in their lives.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will continue. Enjoy!
