Twelves - Chapter Eight

 Emily and Suleiman spend the next two hours climbing the stairs carved into the rocks ascending higher and deeper into the Atlas Mountains. As they round bend in the stair case they are surprised to find…”A temple!” exclaims Emily, “A temple of Lahash by the looks of markings on the obelisks.”

“Quite.” observes Suleiman, “I’ll take quick look around to figure out how to proceed. Why don’t you find a perch overlooking the temple and provide me cover if I need it.”

“You’re not going in are you?” queries Emily.

“No. Just going to scout around to see what we’re up against. Lahash is a powerful demon in the spiritual realm. I can’t imagine what physical manifestation would be able to hold that much evil. But, I don’t want to find out either.”

Emily smiles, “I don’t want you too either.” Emily scampers up a nearby cliff and signals Suleiman she’s ready.
